The Penguins have acquired Frank Corrado from Toronto for Eric Fehr, Steve Oleksy, and a 4th round pick.
Corrado, who has not seen much time in the NHL is 23 years old has a cap hit of 675,000. The right handed defenseman has shown promise but sadly, has not gotten very many call ups. Now that he is with a successful team and can work with the Penguins veteran D-men, I have a feeling he’s going to turn his career around just like Justin Shultz did upon coming to Pittsburgh.
Fehr and Oleksy had a combined cap hit of 2.5 million dollars. Needless to say this trade helps the Penguins finances, and their blue line.
Corrado has 8 points in 69 games.
